Update: @ 7:16pm: Structure Fire Smoke and Flames Visible

DOTHAN: At 6:29 PM Dothan Communications dispatched a structure fire at 903 Duke Street, reports of smoke and flames visible.
Dothan Fire Engine 1 ( Central ) under the command of Dothan Fire Captain David Hasty was the first fire engine on the scene. Engine 1 did not grad a fire hyrdrant and went on into the fire. Captain Hasty reported this was a single family residence with smoke and flames visible. Captain Hasty reported they were making an offensive attack on the fire.
The second fire engine on the scene was Engine 4 ( Southside ) under the command of Dothan Fire Captain Mark Reynolds. The crew connected to the fire hyrdrant and brought in a house.
Batallion CHief Greg Hutchison arrived on the scene. Chief Hutchison called fore Dothan Utilities to respond to the scene and for a Fire Marshall to report to the scene.
At 6:37 PM fireman reported water on the fire and the fire was under control and extinguished. The fireman were in the process of checking the overhead of the residence for any fire extension in the attic.
At 6:38 PM Fireman reported the residence was all clear of any person inside the residence on the primary search.
At 6:41 Dothan Fireman reported the scene was completely under control, all fire was out, all residents were okay, all fire personnel are okay.
Pilcher's Ambulance responded an ambulance to the scene which stood by to make sure all fireman and residents were okay and no emergency medical transport was needed.
Matt Boster resonded for RSN. Response was delayed due to a train across the railroad tracks.

Good response and actions on behalf of the men and women in the Dothan Communications Division and Dothan Fire Department. The fire was dispatched at 6:29 PM. By 6:41 PM, by 12 minutes from the time the fire engines were dispatched from the fire station, they fire units were on the scene and all was under control on a fire where smoke and flames visible on the arrival of the fire engines.
Repeat...12 minutes from the time Dothan Communications dispatched the first fire engines to respond to the fire from the fire station, the first fire engine reported smoke and flames visible, they had the fire and ALL under control.
A great team effort. It begins in the Communications Division and rolls from there.
Update @ 7:16 pm.
Firefighter have the fire out and have ventilated the structure. The resident was at home at the time of the fire but doesn't know what started it. The Fire Marshal is arriving on scene and will begin his investigation into a possible cause.
NOTE: When a road is blocked off please don't drive around the vehciles and through folks yards just because you can't wait.
