UPDATE About Baby Jude

The lead airway surgeon, who performed Baby Jude’s major airway surgery a few months ago, came by the ICU to see us this morning.


The plan from here is to continue slowly weaning down off of the drugs that Jude was on while intubated, manage withdrawals, and then re-evaluate his upper airway. The last major surgery was definitely successful and his lower airways remain open by all appearances. There was still a degree of collapse/obstruction of his upper airway at times and h...e may require another surgery on that portion of his airway. They will be repeating another bronchoscopy once Jude is off of the sedatives completely (hopefully sometime next week).



Jude remains in a very good mood, and he is extremely talkative! He is smiling and cutting up with literally everyone who walks up to his crib. He is such a happy little guy!



Thank you all for continuing to pray for sweet little Jude and for lifting our family up in prayer. This journey is not over yet, but God has sustained our family up to this point and we move forward with complete confidence that He will continue to be here with us, teaching us and drawing us closer to Himself as we fight for Baby Jude’s life. His miraculous hand is so clearly with this child. Love to you all from Boston and the Pendleton family here!
