FROM THE DOTHAN UTILITIES DEPARTMENT



We want to thank you for your patience during the restoration event!  The Crews have been working very long hours and we desire to get everyone in power as soon as possible. We had crews from Troy and Andalusia assisting Dothan Utilities with power restoration today. They are returning tomorrow with the addition of crews from Tuskegee and Opelika. We are also working with the Water Department, Wastewater Collections, Street Department crews and General Services Department (as well as Fire and Police Departments) to clear areas and respond to needs. In addition, our Asplundh crews are working to with us to clear the lines and restore power. We have a large number of vehicles with equipment and materials on the roadways at this time.  Please stay away from the crews working and out of the job areas, which will help speed up the restoration process. Again, thank you for your patience!  We estimate less than 2,000 customers currently without power.



Major areas restored today or working tonight and tomorrow:


·        Restored power on Hodgesville Road from Circle to Spring Hill Road-will work on east Saunders and Pointe South tomorrow.


·        Selma Street (Ford Country): Still working area.  Restored Mustang, Galaxie, Mobile, Taurus, Fairlane.  Working area tonight and tomorrow.


·        Restored S. St Andrews area S. Oates area including Dothan High School area-S. Bell street.  Regions Bank off different circuit and currently working area. 


·        Cloverdale area restored including school.


·        Cleared electric on Cottonwood at Publix.  Working to restore power from Circle to Darlington Circle.  Remaining to be continued tomorrow.


·        Headland Avenue, North of Railroad restored.


·        Working on S. Appletree now.


·        Northside Subdivision restored.


·        Bracewell, Roosevelt area restored with a couple of exceptions due to broken pole.


·        2500 Block on Evans restored.


·        Area around 103 Girard restored with exception of broken pole with couple house out of service.


·        N Cherokee restored.


·        Allen, Webb-Lake restored.


·        Simms street restored.


·        S Roberta restored with the exception of broke pole. A couple of residences still out.




Areas working currently working or will try to complete tonight:


·        N. Range Street (U.S. Coupling).


·        Chickasaw and Orange.


·        Omussee Road


·        Several areas with conductor needed install.




Large locations working first light tomorrow:


·        Tate/Stadium area.


·        Plaza/Oak area.


·        Isolated pole areas.


·        Other areas discussed above.



We will continue to work on the smaller list of isolated areas and continue to reduce outage locations.
