UPDATE: Flat Creek Responding To Grass Fire

34 Central has just dispatched Flat Creek Volunteer Fire Department to a small grass fire along side of the road. The location of the fire is Alabama State Highway 54 near the Geneva County/Covington County line. Flat Creek Brush 94 is enroute to the scene.

 Update: 34 Central has just called back over the radio and advised Flat Creek units that the cause of the fire is a downed power line. The power line fell on the ground and caused a grass fire. Firefighters are on scene at this time and are unable to put the fire out due to the power still on. The power line has caused a brush fire.
