EMA has advised us the Gordon Boat land and the Gilbert land have both been CLOSED due to rising water levels. River Road in Columbia on the west side of the river is being evacuated do to possible flood threat. Enterprise City schools will be closing today at 12:30pm
When we find out about anymore evacuations or closing we will update. Please keep checking out our site for the lasted.
Update No 1 @ 2pm
Due to the ground being already saturated and with more rain coming in the next twenty four hours, it will all become runoff and flooding could be expected in low lying areas and rivers and creeks. The river in Newton is expected to crest sometime tonight or early morning. Elba is forecasted for moderate flooding, Level Plains could receive some moderate flooding as well.
The water is still riseing at all boatlanding on the Chatahooee river and all boat landing and parks will be closed due to flooding. Everone needs to pay close attention to the rivers and creeks around their area. If you live on Gilbert and River Road now is the time to leave. do not wait until it is to late.
