UPDATE NO 4 DEVELOPING: Shooting In Dothan 84 West and Honeysuckle

DOTHAN:   Multiple Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputies are on the scene of a shooting - drug situation. The incident begins at Westgate/Honeysuckle Road at Texaco station and house behind the Texaco.

Reports are at least 5 shots have been fired. Reports are at least two persons have been shot. Reports are at least one person is in critical condition.

Reports are law enforcement are involved. Officers were conducting a drug investigation when all broke . Several Dothan Fire Engines and three ambulances have responded.

UPDATE NO 2 @ 9:02 PM

According to an eye witness that was sitting in the parking lot of Wal Green's when the action took place. A car was parked at the Texaco located West Main and Honeysuckle. The suspect vehicle was a gold colored Maxima or Camry. A pickup truck blocked from the rear and a SUV to the side. Officers are reported to have gotten from their vehicles and were approaching the suspect vehicle.

It was at that time, according to witnesses, the gold car them rammed the truck pushing it back towards the gas pumps and fled from the parking lot. It was at this time that gunshot exchange were made between the police and suspect. UNCONFIRMED from police sources CONFIRMED by witnesses.

The suspect vehicle, which was traveling west, turned to the left and into a drive just west of the Texaco at West Main and Honeysuckle Road.

Three ambulances have made transport.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes was close by to the scene and responded. Multiple Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputies. Dothan Police Major Steve Parrish and Chief Greg Benton are responding.

UPDATE NO 3 @ 9:26 PM

Sources are reporting that all law enforcement officers are ok, At least two suspects have been shot, one reported to be critical.

UPDATE NO 4 @ 9:35 PM

Dothan Police Major Steve Parrish has confirmed one suspect is dead. One Dothan Police Officer has been injured after being struck by a car. That officer's injuries are not life threatening.

Dothan Police has one additional suspect in custody,

Reports are a large handgun was next to the suspect when officers approached him.

The crime lab has been called in to process evidence. Agents from Alabama Bureau of Investigation ( ABI ) to conduct the investigation because of the involvement of Dothan Officers.
