DOTHAN:   Dothan Mayor spend most of Wednesday afternoon in surgery at Flowers Hospital. The surgery was required from injuries he received in a four wheeler accident in Idaho.

Mayor Schmitz was to be released from the hospital today. The family has requested calls be forwarded to the Mayor’s Office, 334-615-3111. Reports from his office this afternoon were that Sandy, Mayor Schmitz’s wife, reported he was doing well and had gotten his "wit" ( sense of humor ) back. However there would be some rest period required.

The mayor suffered some significant injuries to include a broken collar bone, several broken ribs and other injuries.

Please pray for him. Please do not call or visit, however I have opened this article for user comments if you would like to leave him a personal message.

Mayor Schmitz is doing a good job for Dothan in leadership. He, Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce President Matt Parker, Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver have been working hard in getting jobs ot Dothan - Houston County and immediate surronding area. They have several projects in the works. The Mayor will be following his motto - GO! GO! GO! in getting back going and serving Dothan. In conversations with him he loves Dothan, and he loves serving as Mayor of Dothan.

To Mayor Schmitz, to First Lady Sandy and First Son Michael, we wish you well as Mike gets back on his feet and gets GOING! GOING! GOING!

Please send your comments if you desire to the Mayor.
