DOTHAN POST – A single-vehicle crash Wednesday, July 16, claimed the life of a Cottonwood woman. Edith S. Barger, 70, was killed when the 2006 Saturn she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Barger was not using a seat belt. The crash occurred at 2:10 p.m. on Alabama 53 three miles south of Cottonwood. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
