UPDATE on Yesterday's Shooting on Slocomb

On Sunday, 08/17/2014, The Slocomb Police Department was called for service to a residence on Cotton Box Road, in Slocomb. The call for service was in reference to a female subject who was saying she had been in a vehicle crash and someone had tried to shoot her and her passenger.
An Investigation was started and was soon was determined that a vehicle crash had occurred and an occupant of the vehicle had in fact been shot. At the request of Chief Don White, Alabama Bureau of Investigation was contacted and requested to assist in the investigation. Also requested was the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Department of Public Safety and the Holmes Correctional Institution K-9 Tracking Team, as wellHouston County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Tracking Team.
Two occupants of the vehicle, a white female and a black male were transported to a local hospital for their injuries. The male subject appeared to have more than one gunshot wound. Other injuries on both subjects were a result of the car crash. The assailant is this case has not been charged at this time. The investigation into this incident is on-going, and details are being withheld until the investigation is complete.
