We are following a story as it is breaking right now involving an officer who called requesting assistance from fellow officers.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m., a Geneva County law enforcement official requested assistance and gave his location. The call was taken as an officer down type situation and law enforcement sprang into action. A short time later officers were on the scene and requesting AirHeart after it appeared that the law enforcement official may be suffering a stroke according to information provided at this time.

The story will be updated as more details are made available.

Note – We have the name of the officer but we are not going to disclose it at this time due to the fact that family may not have been notified yet.

Updated - The officer experiencing difficulty yesterday was Joel Hendron, a Fish and Game Officer in the Wiregrass. Officials indicate that he is doing much better.
