ASHFORD: 12:35 PM Houston County Sheriff Department and Ashford Police Department in a chase. Went through Ashford and west bound on Highway 84 towards Dothan.
Subject is a mental patient, in possession of a edged weapon, and refused to drop the weapon on command.
The subject jumped in a vehicle, traveled down Midland to Broadway, then west on Highway 84.
The vehicle is a green Hyundai. Estimated speed 90 MPH.

Subject pulled into Domino's Pizza on East Main just outside Ross Clark Circle. The suspect exited the vehicle and made into Domino's and was then taken into custody.
Multiple Houston County Sheriff Units and Ashford Police involved. Dothan Police were not in the chase but on the scene at Domino's.
Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigators are on the scene and trying to put all details together.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza and Chief Deputy Jeff Carlisle are on the scene.

The suspect failed to obey Deputy McKinney's commands in Ashford to let him see his hands. When the initial call was dispatched the reports to 911 were the suspect was armed with a knife.
The suspect jumped in a car and fled.
UNCONFIRMED he worked at Domino's. Was sent home and had made verbal threats of workplace violence.
A bystander who witnesses the chase ending and apprehension praised the officers and said they all need a raise. The lady was impressed with the way law enforcement handled everything.
