HOUSTON COUNTY:   While the "commissioners" have to work 7 days a week to afford to be paid and benefits, Houston County does not.


The Houston County Commission stopped the Houston County workforce from working 5 days per week and directed them to work only 4 days per week.


Well, someone stumped their toes one day so a holiday has been established for government to have another paid day and no work. That holiday will be Monday.


NOTE:   All of the paid government holidays - I refer to it as - someone stumped their toe so the government leaders took that as a chance for another paid government holiday.


So the Houston County workforce is off on Friday. Every Friday!


Well, Monday is the holiday - so the workforce gets to take Monday also. So all Houston County offices will be closed on Monday.


So next week, the only days the common folks can go to any county office for service, will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The Houston County Courthouse is open each and every Friday. The  courthouse is not affected by the decision of the Houston County Commission.


The Houston County Commission DOES NOT manage ANYONE at the Houston County Courthouse, other than (1) the Emergency Management Office (2) the courthouse maintenance. Other than that, the Houston County Commissioners have zero authority over.


The Houston County Commission does set the time for the Administrative Building in the 400 block of North Oates Street. That is where the car tags are sold.
