HOUSTON COUNTY: 10:00 AM. Houston County Sheriff Department has a man hunt underway on Highway 231 South at Doyle Holland Road. More details to follow.

The Sheriff Department took one into custody for robbery in Texas. A second person possibly fled and reported to be armed.

Houston County Sheriff K-9 Units and air drones are searching for suspect.

Houston County Sheriff Deputy Robert Jenkins stopped in the parking lot of BJ Fireworks to assist subjects in a Toyota 4 Runner that appeared to be broke down. It turned out the vehicle was stolen from Hillsbourough County Florida and the man was wanted out of Texas for Armed Robbery.

The suspect taken into custody reports a second person fled into the woods and was armed with a sawed off shotgun.

The Sheriff K-9 Team has been deployed. Sheriff Department drones are also in the air. The drone team has been added by Sheriff Valenza. A valuable tool for law enforcement officers and safety of the officers.

Houston County Sheriff Major Andy Hughes is on the scene.

Houston County Sheriff Captain Bill Rafferty reported that Deputhank you Jenkins stopped to assist the motorist. Jenkins noticed the tag looked altered. After the tag was run through NCIC the vehicle was stolen from South Florida.

There was only one Hispanic male present when Deputy Jenkins arrived. The suspect have Deputy Jenkins a false name. Finally a real name was obtained. When he was checked through the National Crime Information Center ( NCIC )!it identifies the male subject was wanted for armed robbery from Texas.

The suspect told Deputy Jenkins there was a second person who went into the woods with a weapon. The K-9 never located a track. Persons in the area never saw a second suspect.

Deputies are continuing to check. Illegal narcotics were found in the vehicle.

Houston County Sheriff Department was assisted by Jackson County Sheriff Department and Alabama Department of Law Enforcement - Trooper Division.
