GENEVA COUNTY:   UNCONFIRMED reports on North County Road 69 in Geneva County, human remains have been found under a bridge.  UNCONFIRMED reports are agents of Alabama Bureau of Investigation and other agencies are on the scene.

Marty is responding to the area. We have attempted to contact Geneva County Sheriff Greg Ward via text for confirmation and Alabama State Trooper PIO Kevin Cook for confirmation via text message. So far we have no confirmation response from either.

This is a developing story based on phone calls we have received. We will confirm when Marty gets on the scene.

Marty has arrived at the bridge on Geneva County Road 69. He confirmed to me on his arrival of blue lights and law enforcement officers on the scene. The circumstances of what is going on at this time is not known.  As soon as we get confirmation or details we will update.

At this time we do not have CONFIRMATION that the bones are human.

The Alabama Bureau of Investigation Crime Scene Unit is on the scene. Marty has confirmed that Geneva County Sheriff Greg Ward is on the scene. There are other law enforcement vehicles, to include a specialty law enforcement type vehicle on the scene.

At this time we have no law enforcement confirmation of exactly what is going on. We do have confirmation there are on the scene at Hurricane Creek Bridge on North County Road 69 in Geneva County.

Hartford Police Chief Annie Ward has confirmed they received a call earlier this afternoon of possible human remains found under the bridge at Hurricane Creek. When Hartford Police Officers arrived they did find some bones.

Hartford Police called in Geneva County Sheriff Department, Alabama Bureau of Investigation ( ABI ) and agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ). The scene is being treated as a crime scene and investigated properly.

Investigators think the bones could possibly be that of an animal and not human. However, you are only on a scene one time so the scene has to be worked as a murder scene until law enforcement investigators find out different.

At this time THERE IS NO CONFIRMATION the bones are indeed human bones. All investigators are for sure of, they have found some bones.

It will take several days for confirmation.
