Dothan -Multiple Dothan Fire Engines are responding to a report of a structure fire at 702 Torino Drive. First Engine on scene has advised light smoke then flames visible. Battalion 1 has command. Reports are the fire is in a shed beside the home. Dothan Police are responding along with an ambulance. The road is closed due to supply line blocking the road.

Dothan Fireman Jason Davis and crew had left the Rosedale fire and went to the fuel pumps behind the Dothan Civic Center to refuel their truck to be ready for the next fire. Davis and crew operate Dothan Fire Engine 6 on Napier Field. When the call came in on Torino because of the heavy workload today with medical emergencies and fire, Davis and his crew were closer to the Torino Drive then one of the assigned fire engines. So off from the fuel pumps they rolled.

 

When fireman arrived on Torino Drive a storage shed was fully engulfed in fire. Once again Dothan Fireman connected to the fire hydrant and fire truck to make sure the water supply was adequate and quickly got the fire under control. Dothan Fire Batallion Chief Pete Webb was command on the scene.

 

The storage building was heavily damaged. Fireman contained the fire to the shed only. Dothan Police blocked the road to keep traffic off the fire hoses and fireman. A local ambulance stood by to make sure the fireman and residents received the proper care if a ambulance was needed. There were no injuries.

 

Friday was the day for wrecks in Dothan. Today is the day for fires in Dothan and Houston County.
