HOUSTON COUNTY:   10:54 AM   Houston County Sheriff Deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 231 South and Highway 109. He has one suspect detained and a second fled behind the business.

Multiple deputies are rolling to assist.

The vehicle stopped by the deputy has returned as stolen.

Houston County Sheriff Deputies are setting up a perimeter for the second suspect. They have called track dogs to respond.

This is an example of officers pulling over a vehicle on a traffic stop. Then they learn the vehicle is stolen after rabbit tells suspect to run!

Multiple deputies, Alabama Game and Fish Officer and Cottonwood Police surrounded the area. As the law enforcement officers were surrounding the perimeter officers located the suspect inside the store.

As the initial deputy, Chad Wilson, was struggling with the first suspect, the second suspect slipped around and entered the store. While in the store the suspect took his shirt off, stole a short from the store and put it on. OOPS - he forgot to take the tag from the back of the short that it was new.

The law enforcement officers were observant and noticed that. The suspect was detained and confirmed with the store about what happen. The suspects old clothes were found and taken as evidence.

Houston County Sheriff Vice Deputies were checking the vehicle for illlegal drugs.

Dothan Police were called to the scene because the vehicle was reported stolen from Dothan.
