DOTHAN:   Dothan Fire Department is responding to a structure fire at 108 Bridgewater Court. Several fire engines are responding, Engine 9 ( Technology ), Engine 5 ( Eastside ) and Engine 1 ( Central ) and Batallion Chief Pete Webb.

Communications reports unknown if the residence is occupied.

Dothan Batallion Chief Pete Webb is the first on the scene. Chief Webb reports are a single story residence in a dead end. Evidence of heavy smoke. Chief Webb has instructed a fire engine to connect to a hydrant and lay a fire hose line in.

A victim has been located inside the residence.

The fire is under control.There is a victim in the fire that is deceased. Chief Webb has called for a Dothan Fire Marshall and Dothan Criminal Investigators to respond to the scene.

Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd has identified the victim as 83 year old Rose Thomas.

Coroner Byrd said the preliminary cause of death is smoke inhalation.
