Kinsey and Houston County Sheriff's Office have responded to a burglary in progress at 5425 Headland Ave.  The have 4 suspects contained.  Rickey is enroute and will update more.

UPDATED @ 2:30 PM

Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Kinsey Police, Webb Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputies to a possible Burglary In Progress on Headland Avenue near Highway 431 Intersection.

Responding to the call Kinsey Police Officer Jimmy Singleton, Webb Police Officer Quinton Vann, Houston County Sheriff Lt. Ivey and Cpl. Hatcher.

On the arrival there were two trucks and four people. Officers seperated and stopped both vehicles and detained all four subjects. On preliminary investigation two of the persons detained were legitimate and working. The other two persons were detained and Criminal Invesigators from the Sheriff Department were called to the scene to investigate.

We are holding the pictures of the suspects detained unless charges are brought against them.

THANKS to Webb Police Chief Quinton Vann. Vann was a police officer in Kinsey for about 7 or 8 years. In a meeting where the Mayor was not at, Quinton was selected as Kinsey Police Chief. Vann could quickly tell there was no way he could win and very quietly left Kinsey and went to work in Webb. In all years Quniton has been a police officer I have not had any compliants on him and he did a good job. That is why he very quietly got him another job and left. And even though the Kinsey Town Council treated him wrong, when there was a crime in progress and the Kinsey Officer needed back up to protect the citizens, Vann did not hesitate to assist. On behalf of the "voters and citizens of Kinsey Alabama, Quinton THANK YOU!!!

UPDATED @ 16:00 HOURS

There is an update. It was Mayor Jason Reneau that rode Qinton Vann into resigning. The Mayor controls the day to day operations and rode Quinton Vann which caused him to resign. The Mayor was against Vann from the beginning and the council hired while the Mayor was gone. The council does not manage the day to day operations of the city and not the City Council. The majority of the council was not against Vann.

No matter what Vann would have done he would not win because the Mayor was in support of Vann.

The above is not from Vann and he did not ask me to even out comments about him up. However, he was done wrong in Kinsey, however he very quietly found him another job and left Kinsey. However when he was needed to backup an officer in a potentially dangerous situation, he never hesitated.
