HOUSTON COUNTY: This morning Emily had to be at Flowers Hospital at 7 AM for surgery on her hand.
Emily has a condition of nuerofibromytosis. That is tumors that grow on nerve cells.
This morning Dr. William Owens, a great and qualified surgeon, will perform the surgery.
There is a chance that Dr. Owens will be forced to remove the pinky finger. Currently Emily has no feelings in the finger and can not use the finger. Dr. Owens will not know until he is in there. If blood flow is lost in the finger then he will be forced to amputate it.
Please keep Dr. Owens and Emily in your prayers.
She is in a good mood. Well, until minutes before they took her from the room for the surgery.
Emily works with the State of Alabama at the Alabama Welcome Center. She has a great personality and does a good job welcoming people as they enter our state.
UPDATED @ 2:57 PM
Emily has just been discharged from Flower's Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center. The surgery went well. Dr. William Owens did an outstanding job. Her finger was saved. Once in the surgery some of his plans had to be altered, but the surgery was successful.
Emily had nuerofibromytosis tumors removed from her breast and leg also in the surgery.
Again, Dr. William Owens was GREAT. The staff at Flowers Hospital Outpatient Surgery CEnter was great!!!
Also thanks to my pastor, Rev. Jim Tate and Minister of Music Rev. Billy Rich for their prayers and ministering to us.
I have an "after surgery" picture but have threats from Emily if I was to post!
