DALE COUNTY:    This has NOTHING to do with the school - ALL KIDS are safe.


Dale County Sheriff Department has locked down G. W. Long School in Skipperville. On Dale County Road 33 at 1:45 PM the Sheriff Department has responded to a call with shots fired.


Because that is in the vicinity of the school, Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson and Chief Deputy Mason Bynum locked the school down. 


Sheriff Deputies are dealing with the situation but they wanted to make sure all of the children are secure and safe.


AGAIN - the lockdown has nothing to do with any incident at the school.

All being resumed at this time. Incident started at 1:45 PM but all ok and school being returned to normal activity.
