DOTHAN:  Dothan Police and Dothan Fire are on the scene of a shooting in the 1900 block Reeves Street. As we understand there was a possible burglary and the person was shot. We do not know all of the circumstances. Matt Boster is on the scene.

Crime scene tape is up, Criminal Investigators have been called to the scene. The ambulance responding has been cancelled. UNCONFIRMED but we understand there is a possible death.

CONFIRMED at least one is dead on the scene. A truck has hit a column of one of the buildings at Plaza Two Shopping Center. Dothan Police has the victim and has left the scene going to police headquarters to take his statement. Investigators and Crime Scene Techs are processing the scene.

The dead person is reported to have gone into the commercial clothing business in Plaza Two Shopping Center in an apparent attempt to rob the busines. Reports are the dead person ( while alive ) put a gun in the store operators face while attempting to committ an armed robbery. The store operator was faced with the fear of his life and was required to use deadly physical force in an effort to protect himself.

The store operator was transported from the scene to Dothan Police Criminal Investigation Division for statements of what occured. He has since been released without charges.

Dothan Police Chief Greg Benton, Dothan Police Major Steve Parrish and Twentieth Judical Circuit District Attorney Doug Valeska were on the scene.
