BARBOUR COUNTY:    Authorities and volunteers are on the scene of Alton Shipman Road near Clio is a find of a search crew.

The search teams have found a decomposed body. It is believed the find could be that of 29-year-old Recita Trashon Kennedy. Police said Kennedy’s husband reported her missing, when she didn't come home or call. That report was in Decembe, some 70 days ago.

As we get more information we will update.

Unconfirmed by law enforcement sources but through sources on the scene, the find has been confirmed as that of the missing 29 year old Recita Trashon Kennedy.

As many of you know this morning we helped organize a community search effort led by Officer Richard Peterson of the Clio Police Dept. and assisted by Chief Ronnie Benefield of the Louisville Police Department. The Barbour County ERT team, several members of local law enforcement, area fire departments, and friends of the Kennedy family participated.

Im very sad to confirm we recovered a body at approximately 9:45 am, who at this time we believe is Recita “Shon “ Kennedy, based on the description by family members of the clothing she last had on that matches the body recovered. It appears that this is a homocide at this point and not an accidental death, based on the circumstances present where she was found. The Alabama Bureau of Investigation has taken over the crime scene and started an offical investigation. Recita has been missing for the past 67 days and local officals and family members who organized the search have been increasingly frustrated with the lack of assitance in helping find Recita.
