PIKE COUNTY: Police has the murder- robbery suspect in custody. This afternoon law enforcement in Coffee County spotted the suspect and gave chase.
After air support from the Coffee County Sheriff's arrived the suspect crashed his vehicle and he was quickly taken into custody in the 6300 block of hwy 87 in Pike County.. The suspect was wanted for murder and several robberies in the area.
We will update when we know more information.

The air support came from Dale County Sheriff Department. The suspect is wanted for armed robberies in Montgomery, Troy and Ozark. The suspect is also wanted in connection with a robbery/murder of a store owner in Escambia County ( Pensacola ) Florida.
The suspect was armed and dangerous when the robberies were committed in Alabama. Those robberies occurred before the one in Escambia County when the robbery/murder occurred.
Multiple agencies from Coffee County, Pike County, Troy and Alabama Department of Law Enforcement.
The suspect is identified as Raymond Jerome Pruitt, age 39.
