HOUSTON COUNTY:   Houston County Sheriff 911 Center dispatched deputies to Highway 231 South at the Stateof Alabama Welcome Station to a theft.

At 3:53 AM the call was disaptched. Reports are 10 to 15 minutes before 8 to 10 people on a green vehicle stole the SECURITY sign from the side of the security vehicle at the Welcome Center.

Two Houston County Sheriff Deputies responded to the scene and in the area to attempt to locate the suspects.

Houston County Sheriff Cpl. Smith spotted the green van which was traveling along with two other vehicles at Highway 231 as they three vehicles were approaching Ross Clark Circle. Deputy Cpl. Smith attempted to stop all 3 vehicles and other deputies responded to assist.

Houston County Sheriff Deputies are investigating the circumstances.

The vehicle stopped by Houston County Sheriff Deputies was not the suspect vehicle.
