DOTHAN: BE ON LOOK OUT - BOLO - for a possible child abduction attempt today.
In the Nottingham Way area of Dothan, a black male suspect. Age of the suspect is 30 - 40 years. Suspect was reported to be wearing a blue shirt and driving a gold colored Silverado pickup, gold in color.
Anyone seeing anything please call the Dothan Police Department.
Suspect is reported to have offered a child candy.

The Dothan Police Department is currently investigating an attempted abduction of a juvenile, from the 3000 block of Nottingham Way.
Preliminary reports state that at approximately 10:45 am, an unknown Hispanic male, occupying a GMC or Chevrolet Pick-Up truck, attempted to entice a four year old female into his vehicle with the promise of candy and a belief that he was there to take the child to church. The juvenile’s parent witnessed the interaction between the two and as the parent attempted to make contact with the individual, he sped away.
Investigators are in the process of gathering more information and law enforcement agencies across the state have been notified of the incident. Dothan Police have located the person of interest in the alleged attempted kidnapping case from yesterday. Investigators worked into the late evening and early morning hours conducting interviews of potential witnesses as well as the individual identified as a suspect in this case. He is cooperating with police. The investigation is continuing and further interviews are expected tomorrow. Since it is an ongoing investigation we cannot reveal any more details at this time, but will do so in the near future.
We want to assure citizens that we will investigate this to the fullest and leave no stone unturned in bringing this case to closure.
