SAMSON:  Samson Police are in a chase at this time. The chase is of a purple Pontiac. The chase started on South Broad Street and Lee Street.

The vehicle has just crashed and the suspect has abandonded the vehicle and running on foot. The suspect is wearing a doo rag, dark color shirt and pants.

Samson is working to apprehend the suspect. We do not know all of the details at this time. Marty Bowden is enroute to the scene and will update.

Geneva County Sheriff's Office has now joined in the search.

The footchase is in the area of Kaufman Surplus in the wooded area. The suspect is a black male.

At this time we do not know the reason for the chase but will update.

Samson Police has called off the search.
