Ariton: An officer is reported (confirmed) to be down at the HOBO Pantry in Ariton. The town of Ariton is about 20 miles north of Ozark.

Updated @ 6:22pm - The suspect's direction of travel is unknown at the present time. Numerous law enforcement agencies are responding. Houston County deputies are staging at the Dale County line.

Updated @ 6:26pm - Houston County deputies are now responding code 3 to Ariton.

Updated @ 6:31pm - The officer in Ariton has been transported to Dale Medical Center. Several suspects are reported to be in custody. Houston County deputies have been recalled back to Houston County.

Updated @ 6:58 - Officers responded to a disorderly call at the HOBO Pantry. When the first unit arrived, a fight started between the officer and the suspect. Multiple units were dispatched for backup. When these officers arrived, the suspect was taken into custody and the officer was taken to the hospital with minor wounds. The officer is okay.

Great job to the communication centers for their quick response in getting the units needed enroute and to the surrounding areas for their quick responses to get there.
