HOUSTON COUNTY: Ashford Rescue, Ashford Volunteer Fire, Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Alabama State Troopers are on the scene of a single motor vehicle Ashford on Highway 55 South of Ashford.
The accident site is near Garrett Road intersection of Highway 55. It is a single vehicle accident that was overturned. The patient was unresponsive. Howver the patient became responsive and is reported to have punched the medic in the face.
Ashford Rescue called Airheart to the scene. Southe3ast Alabama Medical Center is on critical care patient diversion. The helicopter was called to the scene to life flight due to the heavy volume of afternoon traffic in getting through Dothan to Flowers Hospital.
Alabama State Troopers are investigating the accident. More information to come.

We understand the injured was transported by helicopter to SAMC. We never saw the page the helicopter was cleared at either hospital to land by Dothan Fire Department. Someone saw the helicopter land at the SAMC landing pad and Pilcher's Ambulance transport to the emergency department of SAMC.
