OZARK:    Ozark Police are on the scene of a police officer involved shooting.

UNOFFICIAL reports are the person came from a residence with a machete to a police officer. Reports are the police officer had to use his firearm. Reports are CPR is in progress on the victim.

Many Ozark Police, Dale County Sheriff Units, Ozark Fire and Ambulance on the scene.

As more information is available we will update.

The shooting victim has been transported from the scene to Dale Medical Center.

Agents from Alabama Bureau of Investigation have just arrived on the scene. Anytime a officer is involved in a shooting it is custom to call in agents from ABI to handle the investigation.

At this time no official statement has been released.

Sources are telling us the officer responded to a domestic call and when he arrived the suspect came out armed with a machete. The officer fired two shots at the suspect. It has been confirmed the suspect is deceased.
