UPDATED @ 7:30 am Breaking News: Ambulance Over Turned in Pike County

The Alabama State Troopers are working a single-vehicle ambulance crash in Pike County on US 231 at the 85 mile marker. Motorists should use caution when traveling in this area. Three injuries have been confirmed none appear to be life threatening. The passenger in the ambulance is a pregnant female who is being transported to a hospital in Montgomery to have her injuries evaluated. The nurse that was traveling with the patient and the driver were transported to Troy Regional hospital in Troy for treatment of their injuries. The ambulance service involved in the crash was Pilchers ambulance service out of Dothan. NO more additional information is available at this time. Click for full article on WSFA Updated 7-27-12 @ 7:30 am We have learned that the patient was trapped into the stretcher and the stretcher was still locked into place after the wreck. the patient was taken to a Troy hospital and checked out then transported on to Birmingham. Reports are a tire blew out which caused the ambulance to over turn. No one received any life threatening injuries and all were checked and released. NOTE: Pilcher's Ambulances are kept maintained and this was an unforeseeable incident.
