FATILITY UPDATED @ 11:23 AM BREAKING NEWS: Serious Critical Motor Vehicle Accident In Rehobeth

REHOBETH:  At 7:26 PM Houston County Sheriff Communications has dispatched a serious - critical motor vehicle accident, Highway 203 at Highway 109 intersection.

Rolling to the accident Rehobeth Fire - Rescue, Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Alabama State Troopers.

The accident is reported to involve a van and four door pickup truck.

When more information is available we will update.

Houston County Sheriff Deputy Ricky Herring is the first deputy on the scene. Herring reports CPR in progress on one victim. There is heavy damage and two patients involved. Rehobeth Rescue is just arriving on the scene.

Houston County Sheriff Lt. Randy Anderson has just advised Communications to mutual aid Dothan Fire Engine 2 ( Lakewood ) to respond mutual aid assistance per Rehobeth Rescue.

One Rehobeth Rescue has just left the scene with one patient enroute to a Dothan hospital with one patient.

The mutual aid assistance is required on the scene with patient CPR is in progress on.

Dothan Fire Engine 2 ( Lakewood ) has just made contact with Rehobeth Rescue in the 4900 block of Highway 203 South. The Dothan paramedics have entered the ambulance with Rehobeth and enroute to Dothan hospital , emergency response.

Dothan Fire has advised the hospital this is a trauma alert patient from a motor vehicle accident with CPR in progress. The ambulance has just cleared Hodgesville Road and Ross Clark Circle enroute to the hospital.

The accident involved a older model van and a pickup truck. Both vehicles were traveling south on Highway 109. The van struck the rear of the van and did not appear to apply brakes at all. It appears after impact the truck was pushed about long distance from the point of impact.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating. The scene pictures of are being held due to the seriousness of the accident until family of notified.

Houston County Deputy Coroner Ben Earnest has confirmed the victim of the accident, Bruce Hall Bryant, has expired from injuries sustaiined in the accident last evening. Mr. Bryant has been on life support since the accident with no brain activity has just passed away.
