HOUSTON COUNTY:   Alabama State Troopers, Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Cottonwood Police are working a motor vehicle accident on Cottonwood Road at County Road 33.

The accident was at Union Hill Baptist Church.

A two vehicle accident. Patient was transported to SAMC.  The patient is deceased and Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd has been called to scene.

Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd has identified the victim of this afternoon's accident as 80 year old Tommy Quattlebaum of Cottonwood.

Mr. Quattlebaum was a passenger in a vehicle. His wife is in the Intensive Care unit of hospital.

The accident occurred about 9:40 AM this morning just outside Union Hill Baptist Church.

At 11:25 AM Alabama Department of Law Enforcement - Trooper Division booked into the Houston County Jail the driver of one of the vehicles.

Troopers arrested 26 year old Monica Jean Behuniak. She was arrested for DUI and placed under a $ 1,000.00 bond and Reckless Murder and placed under a $ 250,000.00 bond.

She will appear before District Court Judge Benjamin Lewis at 8:30 AM Monday morning for initial appearance. The appearance will be via video feed from the Houston County Jail.

ALEA is in charge of the investigation.
