DOTHAN:  Dothan Fire responding to a Structure Fire 100 RIDGEDALE DR, smoke/flames vis - in kitchen.

Dothan Fire Engine 4 ( Southside ) is the first engine on the scene. Captain Mark Reynolds reported this was a single story wood frared residence, heavy smoke visible with no flames Visible. Dothan Fire Engine 5 ( Eastside ) is the second engine on the scene.

Dothan Fire reports they think they have located the source of the fire. They have started ventilating the residence. Dothan Fire has called Dithan Utilities to the scene. A Dothan Fire Marshall is responding to the scene. Dothan Fire reports water on the fire.

The fire is under control. Dothan Fire has called the American Red Cross to respond to the scene to assist the residents with immediate needs.

Dothan Utilities has arrived on the scene to cut the power. The hot spot of the fire has been located and put out. Dothan Fire Engine 1 ( Central ) is also on the scene. Dothan Fire has released Pilcher's Ambulance from standing by on the scene.

When fires occur and it is an active fire the Dothan Fire Department goes into what is referred to as a "move up status". That is where outer fire stations move towards the downtown area of Dothan to be more centrally located in order to respond to fires.

Dothan Fire Engine 8 ( Highlands ) has moved up to Central Fire Station to stand by for additional emergency calls.
