MONTGOMERY: United States Federal Judge Myron Thompson has ruled against defendant Milton Mcgregor in his motion to compel against the government.
The judge has also granted the government's motion that two FBI agents can sit at the prosecution table during the trial to help the prosecution. One of the two FBI Agents, Keith Baker, was the lead agent in the investigation.
Before the first trial there was a hearing conducted in secret in regards to Keith Baker and the Grand Jury. The records have been sealed in the hearing. However, after the hearing Baker was removed from the courtroom and did not come back in until the verdict was read. Baker was never called to testify.
The proscecution has indicated that Baker is not expected to testify in the new trial.
The records over what the hearing was about is under seal. No member of the defense, defendants or attorneys will comment, citing the matter is under seal and they will not discuss. Amoung members of the media, a lot of information has been discussed and speculated as to what the hearing was about and the reason Baker was removed from the courtroom.
The court and government has refused to comment on the reason why. We have had some anymous calls about the reason, and if the reasons are anywhere near true, then the Judge should step in and do something. We have found some documents filed in State court in Elmore County that confirm somewhat the media speculation.
And those speculations could be revealed if former Governor Bob Riley testifies.
