UPDATED 9:45 BREAKING NEWS: MOTORCYCLE WRECK WITH FATALITIES

Rickey is reporting that there is a wreck on 231 South at Big Creek Bridge.  There are three motorcycles involved.  CPR is in progress.  Please excercise caution if driving in this area.  We will update as more information becomes availabe.  

UPDATE: CPR is in progress on 2 patients. Dothan Fire is sending multiple fire units, Pilchers and Rehobeth Rescue, Hodgesville Fire and Southern Junction Fire, Houston County Deputies are on the scene.  State Troopers are on their way.  Northbound lane of 231 is closed at this time.  

Our prayers are with all involved.

UPDATE:  Rickey is on the scene.  There are two fatalities and only two motorcycles.

Update :  A two-vehicle crash today, May 4, claimed two lives. Jimmy Lee Walker, 46, of Columbus, Ga., was killed when the 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was operating collided with another motorcycle after experiencing a blow out. The operator of the other motorcycle, Timothy Lewis Rakestraw, 33, of Phenix City was also killed. Rakestraw was operating a 1998 Harley Davidson. There were no passengers involved. The crash occurred at 2:55 p.m. on U.S. 231 at the 4.7 mile marker. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
