HOUSTON COUNTY: 3:35 PM Houston County Sheriff 911 has dispatched a motor vehicle accident to 15121 Highway 231 South between Decatur Road and Highway 605. The accident has entrapment, with trauma. Reports are possible CPR in progress.

Responding to the scene, Houston County Sheriff Deputies, Alabama Department of Law Enforcement - Troopers, Rehobeth Rescue, Madrid Fire, Hodgesville Fire, Pilcher Ambulance , Dothan Fire Department, Wiregrass Lifeflight. Jackson County Fire - Rescue is responding.

Reports are 7 injuries with two entrapped, and CPR in progress. The accident is on the north bound lanes.

Emergency units are closing Highway 231 South because of landing Wiregrass Lifeflight on the scene.

Please avoid this area.

Wiregrass Life Flight is on the ground. All patients have been extricated. One patient has been transported from the scene at this time.

There have been two helicopters on the scene. One has just lifted off with a patient enroute to hospital with trauma patient.

All patients have been transported to SAMC and Flowers Hospital by air and land ambulance units.

Dispatched at 3:35 PM and by 4:18 PM all patients have been transported from the scene.

Florida Highway Patrol, Jackson County Sheriff Deputies, and Jackson County Fire - Rescue came across the line and assisted with the accident.

Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza is on the scene of the accident.

Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd has been called to the hospital where two,persons have died from the wreck on Highway 231 South.

While on these two deaths Coroner Byrd has been called to Pansey where one person was killed from another accident.

Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd had identified the two persons killed in the accident as brother and sister, Wyatt Hardy and his sister Amanda Hardy. They are both reported to have lived in Ariton.

Mr. Hardy was in the paving busines, Wyatt's Asphalt Paving and Ms. Hardy was a school teacher in Ariton ( Unofficially ).

NOTE: Ms. Hardy is school teacher in ARITON.

UNOFFICIALLY, we understand the SUV the Hardy's were traveling in was southbound on Highway 231 South. UNOFFICIALLY we understand the traffic light at Highway 231 South and State Line Road had traffic stopped and backed up.

The vehicle went to stop and not sure if hit another vehicle then and went into the median or after cross the median. The vehicles crossed into the northbound lanes of traffic on Highway 231.

A motorhome was traveling north on Highway 231 and the SUV's crossed into the path of the motorhome and impacted. And the motorhome was towing a vehicle.

On the scene, Dothan Post Captain Tracy Nelson, the Chief of the Alabama Department of Law Enforcement - Trooper Division Chief Charles Ward, Cpl. Brian Simerly, Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza, Houston County Sheriff Captain Bill Rafferty and other Troopers and Deputies.

THANKS to all first responders who volunteer their time and energies, Rehobeth Rescue, Madrid Fire, Hodgesville Fire, Southern Junction Fire, Dothan Fire - Rescue, Pilcher Ambulance who sent 5 ambulances to the scene, Jackson County Fire - Rescue, Florida Highway Patrol, Jackson County Sheriff Department, Wiregrass Lifeflight and air helicopter from Florida.
