HOUSTON COUNTY:   Houston County Sheriff Department responding to a burglary which has just occured in the 1000 block of St. Stephens Road in the Southern Junction community.


A look out has been broadcast for 3 to 4 black males who were armed. Several gunshots fired at the owner who was not struck.


Multiple units were responding to the scene. We will update as soon as more information is available.


Suspects are reported to be driving a gray Dodge Charger.

Houston County Sheriff Deputies are on the scene. Criminal Investigators are responding.

Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigator Donovan Arias has once again this week had his peacefulness of being at home with interupted. For the second tiime this week late Investigator Arias has been called from his home to respond to burglaries. Respond after working all day and half of the night.


Earlier this week Arias was called to the burglaries at Courtney's on Hodgesville Road. At 1:24 AM he was on the scene, worked most of the night and was back out early in the morning.


From the sound of his voice when he called "in service and en-route" on the radio, he must have just dozed off tonight before being called to respond.


The criminal investigators of the Houston County Sheriff Department have a tremendous workoad with very few officers assigned to that division.

Houston County Sheriff Sgt. Bill Rafferty has called " in service" and is responding also to the scene to assist. Rafferty is the commander of Criminal Investigation Division.

Houston County Sheriff Chief Deputy Donald Valenza has called "in service" and responding to the crime scene to assist with the investigation.
