HOUSTON COUNTY: At 6:20 PM Houston County Sheriff's Dispatch sent deputies to a disorderly call in the 8000 block of South County 81.

At 6:23 PM The call was upgraded to a firearm assault with the victim having a gunshot wound to the head.

Multiple deputies are enroute and Cottonwood Rescue has been dispatched and are not enroute.

Deputies and EMS are now on the scene with the victim and suspect.

Rickey is responding for RSN.

The gunshot victim is dead on the scene. The shooter, a family member was still on the scene when law enforcement arrived.

Multiple Houston County Sheriff Deputies to include Sheriff Donald Valenza and Chief Deputy Jeff Carlisle are on the scene.

Alabama State Troopers are assisting.

Cottonwood Rescue and Pilcher Ambulance are on the scene.

Houston County Coroner ROBERT Byrd responded to the scene of the death. The deceased was the man you would see often times at Main and Oates Street with bat. He would be twirling the bat and spinning in circles.

The deceased has been identified as 34 year old Rustin Bodiford.

The investigation continues by the Sheriff Department. Sheriff Valenza is expected to release more details on Friday.
