DALEVILLE:   Daleville Police have fired their weapon at a suspect who presented a weapon at a Daleville Police Officer.

The police were searching for a person wearing a bullet proof vest. When the officers encountered the suspect he is reported to have presented a weapon towards the officer. The officer fired, the suspect is now in custody.

At this time I do not think the suspect was shot but that is unconfirmed.

Daleville Police Chief Harvey Mathis have requested agents from Alabama Bureau of Investigation to respond and investigate. When a officer fires his weapon agencies usually turn that investigation over to ABI.

Matt Boster will update.
