DOTHAN: Reports of a wreck with injuries on East Main Street at Dollar General. Reports are a patient escaped from the Behavioral Medicine Unit of SAMC and steals the security van. The patient struck a woman in the Dollar General parking lot.
Reports are the woman is in the emregnecy room of SAMC and is reported to not be breathing.

First reports that the female was not breathing, units have arrived and are notreporting that the female in infact breathing but has received a serious head injury. the suspect is a black male wearing all black with a #1 on the back he is 5 ft and weights 210 lbs with tattoos on both arms. He was last seen heading westbound on East Main Street from the Dollar General.

According to an eye witness. SAMC Security was trying to take the patient into custody. The patient was in the parking lot of Dollar General in the SAMC Security Services van. After a brief altercation in Security attempting to gain control of the patient, the engine to the van raced up and the patient appeared to place the van in reverse. A female was sitting in her Tahoe and the patient in the van raced in reverse striking the Tahoe and knocking it sideways.
The female in the van was transprted by private auto to SAMC ER.
We had conflicting reports via text message. I was in church when the accident occured and conflicting text messages from reliable sources the female in the van was and was not breathing. From what we can determine, she received a significant head bump but she is breathing and will be OK.
Dothan Police investigated the accident which occured on private property.
