UPDATED at 12:16 AM - Developing: Person Shot in Enterprise Winds Up in Geneva County

ENTERPRISEGENEVA COUNTY: At Least one person has been shot in the Enterprise area. The victim was in a vehicle that was stopped on Hwy 27 just north of Geneva. The victim was air lifted a Dothan Hospital. No more information is available at this time due to an on-going investigation. Sheriff Ward has arrived on the scene.

Moments ago spoke with Enterprise Police Chief T.D. Jones concerning tonights Enterprise shooting.

Prelimiary investigation is some people not from Enterprise got into an altercation with Enterprise residents. The altercation then led to the Enterprise residents following the persons. At the circle in Enterprise at a traffic light then situation got worse and the Enterprise residents were apparently shot with a handgun.

The suspects were followed from Enterprise on Highway 27 to the city limits of Geneva where they made contact with law enforcement.

Medical help was called to help the injured. The injured was air lifted to Flowers Hospital where being treated for what is reported to be non life threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle is still being sought at this time.

Enterprise Police are in charge of the investigation and being assisted by law enforcement in Geneva County.

The alleged shooter has turned himself into Enterprise Police at Police Headquarters. No furhter information at this time. Enterprise Police continue the investigation.

The following IS NOT official from Enterprise Police. The following is RSN unofficial understanding of the chain of events.

On Friday the Enterprise resident was at Teaser's in Houston County. When he exited some persons were sitting on his car. Reports are when asked to get off the car a altercation followed.

Tonight the persons who were sitting on the car found out where the car owner lived in Enterprise. They paid the car owner a visit.

The car owner, when he saw them, called his brother. As he was arriving he passed the subjects and the car owner was attempting to catch them. At Highway 27 at the by pass they caught the subjects. As the car owner and his brother approached the vehicle a person in the back seat is reported to have fired three shots hitting one of the brothers.

The brothers then followed the subjects that were sitting on the car at Teasers which showed up at his house.

As they came into Geneva a law enforcement officer was seen and the brothers stopped. The shooting suspect left.

Later the shooter turned himself into the Enterprise Police Department.

Enterprise Police are conducting the investigation. At the time of this writing it is unknown the results of the investigation.

The Enterprise Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 5000 Block of Boll Weevil Circle Enterprise, AL at 6:50 PM.  The EPD 911 Center received a call advising that two vehicles were travelling at a high rate of speed in the area.  An altercation occurred between the occupants of the vehicles and at least two shots were fired.  An individual received a non-life threatening gunshot wounds.  The occupants of both vehicles continued to travel on Hwy 27S toward Geneva, AL.  The Geneva Police Department located the individual with the gunshot wounds and the individual was transported by ambulance to the hospital.  Detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division have identified all subjects involved.  The altercation between these individuals stems from an incident that took place the previous night. This is an active investigation and no other information will be released at this time.
