UPDATED at 2:26 PM....Search for the Missing Girl Resume this Morning

DALE COUNTY: This search resumes this morning for the missing 5 year old girl at Clayhatchee. Members from both Regional Land and Water Rescue and Houston County Rescue are back on and in the water this morning.

Searchers located the little girls body around 1:30 pm just south of the boat landing and over 100 yards from where she was last seen. Rescue workers gathered around the boat landing when the girls body was brought up on the landing.
Sheriff Olson wanted to thank everyone who was involved in the search for the hard work and commitment in locating the young girl....
Out hearts and prayers go out to the family and everyone involved.

All day today Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson and Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum has been on the scene during the search for this precious little angel who drown on Sunday.
Many thanks to the host of volunteers that came out and assisted: Wicksburg Fire - Rescue, Clayhatchee Fire, Houston County Rescue, Henry County Rescue, Geneva County Sheriff Rescue, Alabama Game and Fish, Regional Land and Water Rescue and others.
Dale - Geneva County District Attorney Kirke Adams had the victim's assistance officer on the scene minister to the family.
Chic-Fil-A sent lunch to the scene for the host of volunteers and law enforcement that were searching.
Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms had the Sheriff Command Post on the scene.
Dale - Houston County Sheriff Air unit was on the scene and flew the river several times looking for the body to surface.
NOTE: Matt Boster, John Curtis and myself ( Rickey) spent the morning on the boat with Henry County Rescue searching for the body. That is why news has not been covered much today.
Dale County Coroner Woodie Hildboldt was notified and responded to the scene.
