Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes told the media moments ago the stand off has ended.
Deputies went to serve a domestic violence arrest warrant this morning around 11 AM. The suspect, Michael Clayton McNeil, age app. 44 ( born 1975 ) ran into the house. Threats were made that McNeil was not going back to jail and deputies had better not come in.
Reports are McNeil came out several times. Reports were they were loaded weapons in e residence.
McNeil came out with a loaded rifle and pointed at deputies. A Houston County Deputy fired one time when the rifle was pointed at the deputies striking and killing McNeil.
Sheriff Hughes stressed prayer for the family. Hughes stressed the family has done nothing to violate the law.
All deputies are safe in a situation they did not create and all deputies return home safe.
McNeil was a good guy. It is unfortunate he made bad decisions.
