DALEVILLE: Daleville Police have fired their weapon at a suspect who presented a weapon at a Daleville Police Officer.
The police were searching for a person wearing a bullet proof vest. When the officers encountered the suspect he is reported to have presented a weapon towards the officer. The officer fired, the suspect is now in custody.
At this time I do not think the suspect was shot but that is unconfirmed.
Daleville Police Chief Harvey Mathis have requested agents from Alabama Bureau of Investigation to respond and investigate. When a officer fires his weapon agencies usually turn that investigation over to ABI.

The suspect is in custody at this time, however we still don't know if he was shot or not. ABI is on the scene and the investigation is on-going. We have confirmed that no officer's were injured in the incident.
The incident took place on the corner of Daleville Ave and Holman Street. No one else was injured in the incident.

Daleville Police Chief Harvey Mathis reported the suspect has been identified as 27 year old Samuel Home of Daleville.
Reports came into Daleville Police that a subject is military BVD's and armed with a AK 47 was making threats. A broadcast was issued for a 2001 Jeep Cherokee.
Within a short few minutes from Daleville Police receiving the call, Daleville Police Officer Suiter encountered the suspect. He exited the vehicle with the weapon and pointed it at the officer. The officer fired three shots. The suspect threw his weapon down and raised his hands and surrendered.
The suspect and the officer were not injured.
It has been determined the suspect was not wearing a bullet proof vest.
The suspect suffers from the war.
Daleviille Police and ABI investigate.
