DOTHAN: A Dothan car icon has passed away.
Mr. Hubert Jackson who lives in Columbia has passed away this morning in Columbia. He was a partner is Wells - Jackson Oldsmobile in Dothan for many years. Then Mr. Jackson bought Wells out and it was known as Hurbert Jackson Oldsmobile.
The dealership building still sits at Zenith Road and Ross Clark Circle.
Mr. Jackson was among the "greats" in the car business in his day. He was along with W.D. Williams who owned Pontiac, Cadilliac and Lincoln Mercury, Mr. Fred Bondy who owned Bondys Ford, Mr. David Marshall who took over Bondy's Ford after the passing of Mr. Bondy, Mr. Jack McBrayer who owned Dothan Buick along with those like Emory Foster who was with Dothan Buick.
When you went to Mr. Hubert, you knew you would be treated fair and honest.
Mr. Hubert was friends with those like David Marshall of Bondy's. While they were competitors, you would see them eating lunch.
Mr. Hubert lived in Columbia. He loved Columbia and owned property there and in Dothan.

Mr. Jackson is at Byrd Funeral Home, West Main Street at Flowers Chapel Road, in Dothan. Funeral services to be announced.

The funeral Haome has been changed to Sunset Funeral Home, and again the funeral arrangements will be announced
