DOTHAN: This morning around 2 AM Dothan Police received a call about a vehicle being inside a store. The HOBO Pantry located on Hwy 52 at Omussee ad a car hit the building. The vehicle had taken out the glass and concrete block wall on the eastside of the store. First reports were someone had broken into the store. Police detained two people for questioning in the incident. The investigation into what happened is still on-going. The cost of the damage is in the thousands of dollars.

On January 14, 2015 the Dothan Police Department responded to a security alarm activation at the Hobo Pantry convenience store, located at 4380 Columbia Highway. Upon arrival, officer observed a subject running from the business and a pick-up truck which appeared to have been crashed into the building. Multiple officers and Houston County deputies responded to the area, which led to the subject being taken into custody a short period later. A second subject believed to be involved in what was now considered a burglary, was taken into custody when officers utilizing a department K-9, tracked him into a wooded area and found him lying on the ground.
The subjects were identified as Horst Klemptner and Justin Elmore. Both were arrested for burglarizing the Hobo Pantry store, but more charges may be added pending further investigation.
- Justin Lee Elmore, white male, 32 years of age, of Omussee Road was arrested and charged with third degree Burglary.
- Horst Paul Klemptner, white male, 31 years of age, of Selkirk Drive was arrested and charged with third degree Burglary.
A bond amount will be determined at a later time. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
