UPDATED at 8:30 PM Victim Identified. Late Afternoon Traffic Death In Henry County

HENRY COUNTY: About 6:30 PM Abbeville Fire, Abbeville Rescue and Henry County Sheriff Department responded to Henry County Road 130 to a motor vehicle accident.
Henry County Road 130 runs off of Highway 10 just off County Road 54. The accident was near the Henry - Barbour County line. Barbour County Sheriff's Deputies also responded to the wreck.
The accident was a one vehicle accident. The driver was killed. Henry a County Coroner Derek Wright investigated and pronounced the person dead on the scene.
Alabama Department of Law Enforcement - Trooper Division investigated.
Henry County Sheriff Will Maddox personally responded to the scene.
As soon as all notifications are made we will identify the deceased.

DOTHAN POST – A single-vehicle crash at 6:15 p.m. today, June 28, claimed the life of a Headland man. Joel Rubin Cordell, 40, was killed when the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving left the roadway and overturned. Cordell, who was not using a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene by Henry County Coroner Derek Wright. The crash occurred on Henry County 130 (Junior Williams Road) approximately three miles northeast of Blue Springs. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
