On October 17, 2012 at 8:46 p.m., the Dothan Police Department Traffic Division responded to the scene of a collision in the 4900 block of Montgomery Highway which claimed the life of 81 year old Christine Weed of Dothan. The investigation into the crash is ongoing however the preliminary evidence indicates Weed appeared to have suffered a medical emergency which caused the initial crash. According to traffic investigators, the vehicle the victim was driving, a Ford Taurus collided into the rear of a Pontiac in the 4900 block of Montgomery Highway. The victims’ vehicle then made a second impact becoming entrapped beneath a mobile home parked at Family Home Center at 5386 Montgomery Highway. The driver of the second vehicle received minor injuries. The Dothan Police Department would like to extend our thoughts to the Weed family during their time of loss.
