DOTHAN:    Dothan Police Investigators and Ozark Police along with authorities from FLorence Alabama are involved in a developing situation.

At this time all information is not known. We do know that in Dothan there was a situaiton at a Dothan residence in the Chapelwood area. A child was taken. Dothan Police were quick to obtain and broadcast iinformation to surronding agencies of the suspect vehicle.

Alert Officers on patrol with Ozark Police have stopped at least one and possibly two vehicles that are believed to be involved in the situation.  Dothan Police Captain David Jay has dispatched criminal investigators to Ozark to work on the situation.

Dothan Police are also working with authorities in FLorence Alabama. Some of the divorce situation and child custody issues are possibly out of the court in FLorence. A BOLO ( be on lookout boradcast ) is still active for a 5 year old child and grandparents.

At this time Dothan is working to put all of the details together. As we know more information we will update.

The suspects are in custoty. The child was safe and returned to the parents.

Dothan Police units are traveling to Florence. The suspects are reported to have been apprehended by Florence Police and Alabama State Troopers. Reports are the child is 5 years old.

This matter is a domestic related event. The grandparents are reported to have been the ones arrested. They are expected to face Burglary charges in Dothan and be transported back to Dothan by Police.

Dothan Police and Florence Police continue the investigation.

More information will be released Sunday or Monday.
