UPDATED at 9:10 PM- Dale County Traffic Death Late This Afternoon

DALE COUNTY:    A little after 4 pm today emergency units from Ozark and Dale County responded to a motor vehicle accident. 


The accident location was in the 6000 block of Highway 231 South in Dale County.


There was a traffic death in the accident.


Dale County Coroner Woody Hilboldt responded to the scene. Alabama State Troopers are in charge of the investigation.

A single-vehicle crash at 3:41 p.m. today, Dec. 12, has claimed the life of a Midland City woman. Rebecca Lynn Esterlein, 42, was killed when the 1997 Ford Escort she driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Esterlein, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 231 one mile south of Ozark city limits. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
